George had 40 years of experience in the parchment paper business and founded Walsh Paper Distribution in 2006. He recently passed away in January 2024, about a year after our move to a much larger warehouse, leaving as his legacy a smooth-running efficient operation with the machines he so loved and, of course,  his large office with big-screen TV. George was as much in his element among the sheeters and cutters and shrink machines and endless piles of jumbo paper rolls as he was in the office or on the computer, and truly took a child-like joy in managing "the plant", as he called it. He will be missed for his enthusiasm and friendliness, he was a true salesman, his first priority was keeping the staff and customers happy, which came well before any consideration of the financials and regulations.

Ben was partners with George at WPD from the start in 2006, it was he who talked George into starting his own company after George had spent decades as a salesman and was getting bored. They expected it to be a fun alternative to retirement that George could run out of his garage- neither anticipated it growing to a 25,000 sq ft warehouse with trucks and containers coming in and out almost daily. Ben was CFO and took care of finances and taxes and strategy for the company and spent little time at the offices or warehouse until George's recent untimely passing. Now, as CEO, Ben is actually coming to the office and keeping things running, in addition to his two other careers that used to take up all of his time- he is an MD pathologist directing medical laboratories, and a PhD marine fish biologist describing new fish species, DNA-sequencing coral reef fishes and, most recently, co-authoring the book on the Fishes of the Galapagos.

John is  Director of Business Development at WPD. He has  over 20 years in Sales, and Marketing Management. He brings his expertise in efficiently identifying customer needs, and ensuring they have a positive service experience. He believes that when the customer is successful, it is success for all. WPD has always had a focus on customer service, accepting custom orders and doing R&D for special orders and unconventional products. John will manage the sales department and be the contact for new customers. His outside interests include coaching kids soccer, playing golf, and traveling.

Waseem is the CTO and Director of Software Engineering at WPD and reports to the CEO. He brings many years of executive IT experience to the company. He has been a senior software enginner on projects at several Fortune 500 companies, including First American Bank, Ticketmaster, Idemia and Comcast. He joined WPD in 2018 introducing the latest IT applications to fit the needs of the expanding operation and is also responsible for research and development of IT solutions. His other outside interests include technical architecture, environmentalism, and promoting animal welfare.
